2. 2Face Length: The distance from the chin to the crown of the head (natural top of head) must be between 31 mm and 36 mm (1 1/4 to 1 7/16 inches).

Back of Photo Stamping Requirements

In Canada, the back of ONE photo must contain specific information written or stamped by the photo taker:

1. 1Date Taken: The exact date the photo was taken (e.g., YYYY-MM-DD).
2. 2Name & Address of Photographer/Studio: The commercial studio or individual photo provider name and physical address.
3. 3Guarantor Statement & Signature: For passport applications, your guarantor writes: *"I certify this to be a true likeness of (applicant name)"* and signs their name.

Tip for DIY At-Home Photos: If submitting a home-taken photo with an online renewal or PR application, print your 50x70mm photos on photo paper and write the date, your full name, and your guarantor's statement clearly on the back using a fine felt-tip pen.
